Asking permission

It seems like a simple thing…

Asking clients permission to perform simple procedures demonstrates respect and collaboration. Also, never assume that clients know what is required for our procedures.

Is it OK if I take Jimmy out the back to get one of my nursing team to help me collect some blood from him? It is easiest to collect blood if we are able to shave a little hair so we can better visualise the vein. Is this OK with you?
